About ESAS 08

ESAS 08 is the MOD's in-house conference for Safety and Environmental issues. It provides a unique chance for MOD, Industry and Academia to get together, on a large scale, to share knowledge and experience of the Safety and Environment issues being faced when procuring and operating today's defence equipment.

ESAS 08 is open to all those in the MOD who have an interest in equipment Safety and Environmental management. Defence Industry is also invited to provide their views from a supplier or consultancy perspective.

ESAS 08 has been extended to three days to make more time available to explore environmental aspects in greater depth.

The format of the three days will be decided nearer the event and will be mix of presentations and workshops covering the ESAS 08 themes. We are also hoping to trial a set of ESAS 08 surgeries aimed at providing more focused support to the MOD on a few key safety and environmental topics, further details of the surgeries will follow.

There will also be a select number of exhibitors at ESAS 08. These are manned during coffee and lunch and give the opportunity for industry and other organisations to exhibit their latest services to the MOD and be available to answer questions.

  • take part in workshops to debate S&E issues
  • ask specific questions of SMEs at surgeries
  • network with other S&E professionals from industry and the MOD
  • enjoy a few days out of the office concentrating on moving S&E practices forward
