Welcome to the
ESAS 08 event site

Here you will find all the information you need to take part in MOD ESAS 08, whether you are visiting or wish to get involved by exhibiting or presenting.

Who is it for ?

ESAS 08 is the MOD's conference for everyone interested in the Safety and Environmental through-life management of Defence Systems.

Our aim is to share best practice across MOD, Industry and Academia.

We are encouraging even greater attendance from those planning requirements, procuring, supplying, supporting and using equipment across MoD and in industry. This is about making ESAS 08 as relevant as it can be to all everyone in the MOD involved in and connected with the safety and environmental management of Defence Systems equipment.

Latest News

We're over subscribed! There has been great demand to attend ESAS 08 and we have hit the limits set by Fire Regulations. If you register interest now you will be placed on a reserve list just in case there are cancellations, however the list is already long, so it is unlikely you will be able to attend this year.

We are pleased to announce our two sponsors for ESAS 08, BVT Surface Fleet and Frazer Nash Consultancy. Thanks to their generosity we will all be properly fed and watered throughout the event.

Dates

30th September, 1st and 2nd October

Venue

MOD Abbey Wood, Bristol

The themes for ESAS 08 are:

  • Working with the customer
  • Improving S&E management – capturing in-service experience
  • Decision making and judgement calls
  • Sustainable Procurement – the next step
  • Learning from International and non-defence S&E practices

Cost

ESAS is free to attend. Costs are covered by our sponsors, contributors and the MOD.

ESAS 08 has expanded to three days. We've done this to make more time available to properly address environmental and sustainable procurement issues without sacrificing time on safety.

ESAS Surgeries. We would like to trial the use of safety and environmental surgeries, taking place on and around the main ESAS 08 event. Surgeries aim to provide focused one-on-one support on a variety of issues.
